September 7, 2011 – With technology rapidly advancing, you can now find a 1080p projector to fit every budget and situation. They do provide quite a viewing experience with the ability to project high definition images to any size you need. They also tend to be a bit more expensive than other projectors, but are they really worth the extra money?
If you want the highest quality image, then you’re going to have to go with a 1080p tv projector. While 720p is also high definition, it’s a lower resolution. With a high quality television, this might not make much of a difference, but if you’re doing a full wall-sized projection, this difference becomes pretty apparent. Still, you probably won’t notice if you don’t see them side by side, so if you must compromise in price, at least get a 720p for its high definition.
Not all 1080p projectors are built alike either. Just because it’s a high definition projector doesn’t mean it’s really going to put out a quality image. A DLP projector is going to be better than an LCD projector, but again, they are going to be more expensive. Your best option for projectors is going to be combining a quality name brand with their best 1080p DLP projector. This is for the most uncompromising of connoisseurs though.
In conclusion, a 1080p is certainly worth the money, and as with anything you’re going to get what you pay for. Stay away from the cheap, off-name brand projectors that are sold on eBay and shipped from China, as they are of a questionable origin and quality. As far as quality goes, remember that 1080p is better than 720p, and DLP is better than LCD, so you’re best high definition projector will be a 1080p DLP, and the lowest quality projector will be a 720p LCD projector. This isn’t to say those aren’t good too, but the 1080p is worth the money.
