Disadvantages of Gulf Coast Claims Facility

February 19, 2012 – Although, gulf coast claims facility is mainly created to allocate monetary funds for all the victims of Deepwater horizon oil spill incident, but still this facility has a particular drawbacks that all of us should be aware. We should bear in mind that gulf coast claims facility (GCCF) is created to supervised BP Company, which is labeled to be the reason for the said oil spill incident. A lot of people have noticed that GCCF is trying to delay and deny as many claims as they can in order to save the Company from over spending of the allocated funds. Generally, a total amount of 20 billion dollars is allocated by the BP Company that should be given to all affected individuals and business owners but because of the increasing number of claimants, shortage of the allotted funds is predicted.

A lot of victims from Deepwater horizon incident stated that BP claims facility is doing some unfair or injustice acts. They seem to delay valid claims from several victims and even deny some claims of true claimants. Since the organization is ruled directly under the federal court then it must be neutral. Being neutral simply means that it must not be biased and it must not protect either the BP Company or the government. It must also process and validate each claim professionally without any biases. They should give to the victims what they deserve to receive and should not protect or help the BP Company. It would be much better if gulf coast claims facility works in behalf of the victims and truthfully validates real claimant. Above all, gulf coast claims facility should show transparency in all their processes and actions. They should be clear in everything and give valid reasons for a particular result, whether the result is negative or positive. This should be done in order to avoid complaints or criticisms.
